Defenders Girls Soccer - Spring 2027

Girl's soccer registration now open for students from 6th to 12th grade!  The student must be at least 51% homeschooled or attend a school that does not have soccer.  

No prior soccer experience needed.  Come learn the game in a Christian atmosphere.

Girls who play with the Defenders in the SJYSA Winter Indoor league may enter discount code INDOOR27 during registration to receive a $50 credit toward spring registration.  A sibling discount of $25 will be offered.  A max $ per family per year across all programs of $1500 is available.

An approximate 12 game season is planned.  Games will generally be played on Monday, Tuesday or Friday evenings from mid-March through early to mid-May.  The tentative practice schedule is provided below. Home games will be at St. Joseph Youth Soccer Association (2507 N Riverside Rd, St Joseph, MO 64507).  Away games will generally be against teams in the Kansas City and Topeka areas.

Tentative Practice Schedule

February 25th – May 10th:  Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 –6:30, plus Saturdays, March 13th and 20th, from 10:00 - 12:00.

Defenders Basketball (3rd - 6th Grade) - Winter 2026

Basketball registration open for 3rd though 6th Graders!  The student must be at least 51% homeschooled or attend a private school that does not have basketball.

No prior basketball experience needed.  Come learn the game in a Christian atmosphere.

Regular registration ends November 10th.  Late registration until November 30th.  Sibling discount of $25.  Max $ per family per school year across all programs is $1500.

We have two choices for local leagues.  Depending on which league (maybe both if there is interest), games will be on Saturdays or evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Again depending on which league, games will start in December or January and end in mid to late February.  Both leagues have about a 7-8 game season. Local tournaments, if there is interest, are also a possibility.

Practices are planned for Mondays between 6 and 8PM at Interserv starting November 2nd and ending in February.

Defenders Basketball (Junior High and Senior High) - Winter 2026

No prior basketball experience needed.  Come learn the game in a Christian atmosphere.

Regular registration ends October 15th.  Late registration ends November 15th.  Sibling discount of $25.  A max $ per family per school year across all programs of $1500 is available.

Games are generally played on Tuesday and Friday evenings starting in mid-November and ending the first weekend in March.  Some overnight stays are required for tournament play.  Practices will generally be twice a week.

Defenders Girls Volleyball - Fall 2026

Girl's volleyball registration open for homeschooled students from 6th to 12th grade!  The student must be at least 51% homeschooled or attend a private school that does not have volleyball.  

No prior volleyball experience needed.  Come learn the game in a Christian atmosphere.

Regular registration ends July 25th.  Late registration ends August 20th.  Sibling discount of $25.  A max $ per family per school year across all programs of $1500 is available.

An approximate sixteen game season is currently planned with the first games starting towards the end of August.  Games will generally be played on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday evenings.  Home games will be at the St. Joseph Rec Center.  Away games will generally be against teams from the Kansas City and Topeka areas.
